Star Citizen mining & refining

Star Citizen Mining Calculator

Enter the ore you mined and pick a refining method, and get an estimated refined yield and sell value using live commodity prices, refinery yield bonuses, and real reported refining results from UEX's own audits and this tool's community.

This is a best-effort estimate, not a guarantee - CIG hasn't published the exact refining formula, so the yield shown is a real average from actual reported jobs, clearly labelled with how many reports it's based on, or an honest "not enough data yet" where none exist. Quality is recorded alongside your result but isn't factored into the value estimate, since different-quality ore refines and sells as its own separate stack and we don't yet have quality-tiered price data.

Refining methods

Every refinery offers all of these methods, trading yield, processing cost, and processing speed against each other. These relative ratings are what UEX itself publishes - the calculator above additionally shows a real yield percentage where enough community/audit data exists for a specific ore and method combination.

Method Yield Cost Speed
Cormack
Dinyx Solventation
Electrostarolysis
Ferron Exchange
Gaskin Process
Kazen Winnowing
Pyrometric Chromalysis
Thermonatic Deposition
XCR Reaction

Frequently asked questions

Where does the price and yield data come from?

Live commodity prices and refinery yield bonuses are sourced from UEX Corp, tracked by their community of data-runners and refreshed automatically. The actual raw-to-refined yield percentage per ore and method comes from a combination of UEX's own audited refinery jobs and reports submitted by users of this tool. Ore quality/concentration has to come from your own in-game scan, since that's specific to the rock you mined.

Why does it say "not enough data" for some ore/method combinations?

CIG hasn't published the exact refining formula, so the only way to know the real yield for a given ore and method is from someone who's actually done it. Coverage is still thin for a lot of combinations - if you've refined something that shows no data, submitting your result below directly improves the estimate for everyone else.

How often does the data update?

Prices and refinery yields sync automatically every 30 minutes.
